I used it the very 1st day I received it and I like it very much. It's a useful piece of tool in my kitchen arsenal :) 100% recommend, it's not a gimmick
This was a small watermelon - about 6 or 7 inches side ways & about 8 inches top to bottom. I was really hard to cut while whole so I used a knife to cut it in half, then I used the watermelon cutter. My grandson loved the middle cut and I think it worked great this way. The blades do NOT seem to be sharp like a knife. You may have to pull it apart at the very bottom where the skin is after the cut. We still love it!
